Our motto is “Read to Succeed!”
The media center houses our collection of books, magazines, audio and video collections. We strive to develop the love of reading through providing books and materials on varying topics and levels that will appeal to all students, while supporting the Metro curriculum and state standards. Our collection continues to be developed yearly to keep current with our student and faculty’s needs.

CHECK OUT POLICY   stack of books in color

Asian girlbpy with brown hairblack girl with long hairboy with black hair and glasseswhite girl with red braids

Students come to the media center in groups, with their class, or individually. They may check out books daily. This allows them to have new books to read every day. Students in kindergarten and 1st grade may check out 1 book at a time.  Students in 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade may checkout 2 books. During times when a class is doing a special project, these numbers may be adjusted. We stress responsibility with caring for our books.

Books are to be returned within 2 weeks
, before being counted overdue.  If a child loses a book, the child must pay for the book before being allowed to check out another one. Overdue reports are given out each grading period.

Volunteers  Bookbag

The media center is open for check out but is also a place for storytelling, research, and other projects. It is a busy place and we invite you to join us at any time!

I could always use volunteers. If you have any time that you would like to donate, there is always something that needs to be done in the media center, from shelving books, to helping children locate books. If you have any time, please stop by, or call the school.
