Welcome to the Pennington Elementary School PTO Webpage!
The Pennington Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is already hard at work for this year. We believe it is going to be a great year at Pennington! With your support and assistance, we will be able to accomplish much. One of the ways we want to encourage your involvement is through communicating to you who we are and what our school’s needs are. With that in mind, there are some things you should know about the Pennington PTO.
The relationships with the Pennington Community, which includes students, teachers, staff, parents, and patrons, are vital influence on the success of our children's futures. Therefore, our purpose is to foster a sense of support, pride, and enthusiasm. Through fund-raising and family activities, we will promote positive school/community relationships that enhance our children's educational environment.
Our PTO is made up of parents, relatives, teachers, and friends interested in assisting our school in providing the best education possible for our children.
The PTO operates on funds generated primarily through fund raisers and, of course, tax-deductible donations.
Money collected through the PTO is used to fund special projects, activities and to purchase supplies that enhance the educational experiences of Pennington students.
The PTO participates in several programs that give money back to our school for the money you spend. Among these are… Kroger Cares, Box Tops for Education, and Cartridges for Kids. We are also collecting Campbell’s Soup labels which can be cashed in to purchase equipment from a catalog.
If you have a business or know of a business that would be willing to donate goods or services to our school or to the PTO, please let us know!
What Can I Do to Help?
We’re so glad you asked! There are many volunteer opportunities throughout the year. In fact, there is something to do for everyone. Some jobs require only a one time or limited commitment. Your investment in the lives of children will definitely be worth your time! For information about ways that you can help, please contact the PTO through Louise Reed at reed_fam@bellsouth.net.
Pennington Email Account Now in Service!
We are wanting to send information to you via email. If you are willing to receive, school related information, via email, please send a message to the Pennington email account at Pennington.elem@mnps.orgso we can set up a distribution list. Once we have your email account we can send out any school related news to you that way, as well as on paper. Mrs. Beasley will work on getting this going for us as soon as she has your messages where she can get them into the database.
